Have you ever wondered what some serious study could teach you? Where it could get you? How it could excite you? Well here is your opportunity to lay the foundation for a brilliant future.
Ok, so now you want to study, but you’re worried about jumping in the deep end? Then you should consider studying a foundation degree. Foundation degrees are seen as an entry point to other degrees such as bachelors or masters degrees and are roughly equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor’s degree. They cover a wide range of subjects and in terms of getting into them; UCAS says that there are no set entry requirements and that the university or college offering the course will decide if you are eligible.
And now British foundation degrees are available online. In partnership with the University of Essex, Kaplan Open Learning is now offering adult learners an opportunity to study a foundation degree, online. You can study management, business, marketing, internet marketing, sales or criminal justice, all through Kaplan’s online learning platform.
Richard from Wokingham, Berkshire, is studying business and says about his experience: “Having worked in technical roles for Vodafone, Amazon and Fujitsu-Siemens, I decided to join the course for a number of reasons: Becoming a well-rounded manager from a business perspective was important to me, as well as grasping the theory around business practices. Also, I have a real passion for meeting new people and working with them professionally and personally, and the opportunity to interact closely with my fellow students is a great benefit.”
For those who aren’t familiar with Kaplan, they were established in 1938 in the U.S. and has helped millions of people achieve their educational and career objectives. Kaplan Open Learning, launched in 2007, is Kaplan’s newest Higher Education initiative in the UK. It delivers online degrees based on its knowledge from running Kaplan University in the United States, launched in 2001, which now has over 40,000 online students.
